Men in Black II

Well I’ve just finished watching Men in Black II (2002). Not a bad ironing movie. What’s an ironing movie? When I’m ironing I like to watch a movie. It mustn’t be too engrossing or else I don’t do the ironing. Likewise, it can’t be too “sophisticated” or else I can’t keep track of what’s going on.

Mangaing Links

I’ve been looking for some way to manage my links from with MT. So far, no obvious way has come to light. There are some kludges to use “Categories” but that seems fraught with problems. So I have started looking for non MT solutions. At the moment, Linkster seems like it might do the job.

Sources of MT ideas

I’m always looking for ways to improve the site, and MovableBLOG seems to do just that. It has a rich supply of code (mainly PHP) and ideas. Nice stuff.

Bookmarklets

I’m hooked on bookmarklets. See Bookmarklets and other useful things for IE’s Links bar for more details.

A blog is born

Well I’ve bitten the bullet (again) and set up my own weblog here. This is mainly for my benefit, rather than anyone-else’s benefit.

Noises off

How strange, it is a month since we last went to the theatre. Anyway, at the last moment Chris had two spare for Noises off at the Bruce Mason Theatre. So off we jolly well went. What a riot. To quote the press release: Quite simply the funniest play ever written about theatre. ‘Noises Off’

The Hollow Crown

We went to see The Hollow Crown at the Aotea Centre. It is an production by the Royal Shakespeare Company. It was wonderful. The cast was outstanding; Diana Rigg, Derek Jacobi, Ian Richardson, Donald Sinden, and a “minstrel” Stephen Gray. I think the four main players are at the zenith of their professional skills. According

Writing a proposal

I’ve been through the main documentation for the Tertiary Teaching Excellence Awards in some detail. And, I’ve looked at the requirement our university has. So, now I think I have a handle on the amount of work that is needed for this beast. [Several hours later] Well I haven’t done much so far — in this

Day two

Day One, yesterday was a little too busy for me to make any notes. But I suppose I should say something about it. Well, yesterday was the first day of the new semester. I seem to have two really good groups of students for my Business Policy and Strategy class, and for Introduction to Business.

A new office

I spent part of the morning doing research. The end result — I’ve have a dozen books from the library, on business simulations. That should keep me busy for the rest of the week. The new PhD coordinator, Erling called a meeting to find out what we (the PhD cohort) wanted to do during this
