Auckland marathon 2011

A new mara­thon per­sonal record (PR)  of 3:43:55 . In hind­sight I prob­ably made the rookie mis­take of going out too fast at the start of the race … I was cer­tainly telling myself that around the 30k mark (where I found it increas­ingly hard to hit my tar­get pace). It was great to see

Walk for Isobella and EB

I’m run­ning the Auck­land Mara­thon on Sunday. I’m look­ing for­ward to it, and it should be fun. A few weeks later, I’ll be in Kerikeri run­ning the KeriKeri half mara­thon. I’m doing the run at KeriKeri to raise aware­ness about Epi­derm­yl­osis Bul­losa and to raise money for debra New Zea­l­and, a sup­port group for suf­fer­ers

My BHAG

I have revis­ited The Ran­dom Thoughts of Louis Schmier and in par­tic­u­lar his post on the Teacher’s Oath. Louis has been writ­ing his ran­dom thoughts for dec­ades, and he has been act­ive in the OB Teach­ing Soci­ety (and prob­ably many other things) for way longer than I’ve been teach­ing. So, I’m a little bit sur­prised
